Native to the Amazonian jungles of South America, Calathea Burle Marxii features large, emblem-shaped leaves with bold strokes of forest green on top and deep burgundy underneath. This plant belongs to the Marantaceae family, also known as 'Prayer Plants'. These plants have a unique circadian rhythm, causing their leaves to move up at night and down during the day, in search of the sun, mimicking a wake-and-sleep cycle similar to humans.
